By: Meagan Drillinger

Four Seasons Beirut

There are few summer pleasures that top rooftop dining. The fresh breeze, the blue sky. Our sister publication, Luxury Travel Advisor, has the scoop on the many rooftop spaces that are part of the Four Seasons collection.

Drinks just taste better outside, don't you agree? Now that rooftop season is officially in swing (yay!), Four Seasons has revealed some of its hottest spots to sip and savor amid the skylines.

The dec Rooftop Bar + Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton Chicago (A Four Seasons Hotel) sits 12 stories above Magnificent Mile. Hand-crafted cocktails and small bites rule the menu here, while a color-changing LED waved wall puts the final notes on the outdoor experience.

Four Seasons Hotel Beirut has opened The Roof, Lebanon's highest rooftop lounge at 390 feet above the sea. Guests can enjoy tapas and drinks poolside, with wraparound views of Beirut's downtown skyline, mountains and the Med.

Savor the Sights of Florence at Hotel Continentale's Rooftop Bar

By: Five Star Alliance

 Hotel Continentale

The only thing better than being in Florence? Being on a rooftop in Florence.  Our sister publication, Luxury Travel Advisor, has a peek at Hotel Continentale's rooftop bar, La Terazza. Jena Tessa Fox writes:

Perched on top of a 13th century medieval tower, Florentine architect Michele Bonan reinterpreted the glamour of the 1950s Italian film and fashion scene in his re-design of La Terazza. With the addition of an open fireplace and heated benches the Continentale’s rooftop terrace La Terrazza will be open to welcome guests all year round.

To coincide with the re-launch of La Terrazza, the Continentale has been working with some of Florence’s best mixologists to develop a new drinks menu. Featuring signature Italian cocktails such as the Negroni – a blend of gin, vermouth rosso and Campari – and new interpretations of the Vesper Martini (made famous by fictional spy James Bond), La Terrazza has something for everyone.

Summer in New Orleans

By: Ruthanne Terrero

New Orleans Luxury Travel Advisor

Always wanted to visit New Orleans? Why not plan a trip for this summer. Our sister publication, Luxury Travel Advisor, has a round-up of the best places to stay in the Big Easy.

Let’s start in the heart of New Orleans’ French Quarter, on Royal Street, where the Hotel Monteleone’s Carousel Bar has received a major refresh. This would be that bar you’ve passed by every time you’re in the French Quarter, where the people inside look like they’re having a lot more fun than everyone out on the street. It’s the place you go to for a pre-dinner drink and that you return to for a nightcap. Well now, the Carousel Bar, which really does move around in a circular motion, has more space, high ceilings and even additional bar space. It has a new sibling restaurant, Criollo, which serves “Louisiana Fusion” cuisine. We recommend the chilled gulf shrimp, blue crab & avocado appetizer. Want the best seat in the house? Grab one of the over-sized chairs looking out onto Iberville Street. If you want to reserve ahead of time and need some TLC, contact Richard Vitale (rvitale@hotelmonteleone.com; 504-681-4112), director of the restaurant and bar.

Refined Seasonal Eating at Relais Santa Croce's Guelfi e Ghibellini

By: Elaine Lee

Relais Santa Croce

Guelfi e Ghibellini is the restaurant located on the hotel grounds of Relais Santa Croce hotel in Florence, Italy. A perfect blend of traditional and modernity in Tuscan cuisine, the menu is seasonal and changes every three months dictated by the ingredients local markets have to offer. Guests are welcomed by a marble fireplace and black leather armchairs that create an atmosphere of sophisticated elegance, which guests can uncannily taste in their meals at Guelfi e Ghibellini. The tables are decadently laden with traditional Italian blown glassware, amongst an in-depth selection of different flavors of olive oil. The menu is also known to slightly change on a day-to-day basis, as the talented young local chefs like to enhance the menu with daily produce from local markets. As Italians are known for their artisanal craftsmanship in everything they produce, it is no surprise the same sentiment is trickled into their food. For example, all pastries are made strictly by hand in order to deconstruct the traditional and transform it into a contemporary gastronomical experience.
