By: Five Star Alliance

Hotel mogul and future London Mayor Bracewell Smith started building the The Park Lane Hotel London from 1924 to 1927. World War I halted construction, and the hotel was an unfinished steel frame until 1940. During the 13-year delay in building, the hotel was nicknamed "the birdcage."

July 17, 2013
By: Betsy LeTourneau

Grand Hotel Mazzaro Sea Palace
We at Five Star Alliance work tirelessly to ensure we bring you the best luxury hotels selection and information regarding amenities, location, and highlights so you are confident that the hotel you choose will exceed your expectations and serve your needs. Sometimes, however, you are left with a few questions that go unanswered, and that’s why we’re here. Be sure to explore our new blog series ‘Your Questions Answered’ to find answers to real questions submitted to us by our clients regarding traveling with kids, pets, the best beach hotels, and much more.

QUESTION: What is the dress code at Grand Hotel Mazarro Sea Palace?  Is it okay for us and have breakfast in shorts?

ANSWER: Overlooking one of the most beautiful bays in the world, set among the rocks and sea and embellished by the colours of Mediterranean architecture, rises up the Grand Hotel Mazzaro Sea Palace. In this delightful setting, at the centre of the bay from which it takes its name, the Grand Hotel Mazzaro Sea Palace offers the comfort of a 5 stars de luxe hotel, in a modern, efficient structure. All of this crowned by the charm of the highest volcano in europe: Etna.

The rooms and the suites of the Grand Hotel Mazzaro Sea Palace are quite literally terraces on the sea situated in a refined and exclusive context where the personalization of the services, apart from epitomising hospitality, represents a perfect harmony between tradition and innovation. All the rooms are very carefully furnished with mini-bar, color TV with satellite and in-house program, direct telephone line, hair dryer and individually programmable air conditioning.

As far as dress code, during the day the hotel is casual-friendly, and short are allowed. Dinner is more dressy, men are required to be in long pants and to wear a jacket.

All rates are based on double occupancy and extra person charges may apply. Please be advised that the rates, availability, as well as any extra person charges are subject to change depending on the hotel’s policies.

By: Betsy LeTourneau

Hotel Lutetia
We at Five Star Alliance work tirelessly to ensure we bring you the best luxury hotels selection and information regarding amenities, location, and highlights so you are confident that the hotel you choose will exceed your expectations and serve your needs. Sometimes, however, you are left with a few questions that go unanswered, and that’s why we’re here. Be sure to explore our new blog series ‘Your Questions Answered’ to find answers to real questions submitted to us by our clients regarding traveling with kids, pets, the best beach hotels, and much more.

QUESTION: What are some family friendly Paris, connecting rooms or suite with 2 bedrooms for a family of 5, children ages 7,10, and 13

Hotel Keppler

ANSWER: Hotel Keppler

We recommend the superior suite that connects to standard room.

Hotel Keppler is a haven of comfort features of 39 exceptional rooms including 5 exquisite suites offering great views of Paris and Eiffel Tower. This little "private house" really gives you a feeling of a chic Parisian home rather than a traditional hotel. Smart, witty and sophisticated, this Pierre Yves Rochon-designed hotel is chic chill out zone just few steps from Champs Elysees. The Keppler is an unforgettably glamorous space. Spacious rooms and suites are true masterworks of timeless form and contemporary function. The decor has the indelible signature of a very gifted designer with a terrific eye for color, texture and detail.

The Superior Suite surrounds you with unforgettable luxery and one-of-a kind character. Both of the superior suites have a balcony with a view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. Both suites feature a king bed and a comfortable sofa bed in the living room. These elegant spaces have complimentary amenities such as free WiFi access, iPhone dock, a Nespresso coffee machine, TV in the bathroom, and luxurious Hermes bath amenities. Superior suites accommodate up to 4 persons (2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults) and can connect with a standard room. Size of the suite is 32 sm or 345 sq ft.

The Standard Room continues the black and white decor from the public areas in the floor. Beautifully decorated rooms showcase perfectly Pierre Yves Rochon’s devoted detail and his custom designed furniture and lights creating an inviting and restful atmosphere. Since the luxury here is timeless, the interior of the large leather wardrobes sets the tone for the theme. The same tempo continues in the bathrooms, with black and white marble and an astonishing toile de Jouoy on the walls.  The Standard rooms have a street view. The rooms have a comfortable queen bed, luxurious bathroom with Hermes toiletries, free WiFi, and an iPhone dock.

All rates are based on double occupancy and extra person charges may apply. Please be advised that the rates, availability, as well as any extra person charges are subject to change depending on the hotel’s policies.
