The Sun Rises on the East: East Hotel to Open New Property in Beijing
January 4, 2012
By: Christopher Roney
Opening in the first quarter of this year, the East Hotel in Beijing is looking to add a little spice to the East brand by moving it north from Hong Kong. Billed as a "business hotel with a life," its 348 rooms and 21 suites will have access to all the important things a business traveler needs: free Wi-Fi, a business center with individual working pods, accelerated paperless check-in, and of course a complete fitness center to work off the excess energy you've built up over a day of meetings.
The 'life' part of the East starts with Feast, Food by East, that fits into the business lifestyle. Focusing on crisp, well-prepared classic food, you'll be comfortable in a bustling environment where you won't feel out of place working on your presentation for the next day. Relax when you're done by listening to live performances in the separate bar, the perfect spot to wind down as your finishing up the day or getting ready for a night out. The East Beijing is guaranteed to give a fresh new face to the tried and true methods of East Hong Kong, its sister hotel.
Sad Times at Savoy: London Hotel Suffers Russell Brand Sob Story
January 3, 2012
By: Christopher Roney
If you're the kind of person who follows celebrity gossip, you're already well aware that Russell Brand and Katy Perry have filed for divorce, and while Katy was partying it up in style, Mr. Brand decided to take the melancholy route on New Year's. The Savoy London housed his usual ironic distance and sardonic wit for the night, and he is even reported by The Mirror to have responded to wishes for a happy new year, "Here's hoping it gets better." The poor guy ordered room service and generally spent the night alone, while Katy Perry partied it up in West Hollywood. At least he got some top-quality comfort food.
We hope that next time you make a trip to The Savoy, you're not in the middle of a multi-million-dollar divorce because it really is a lovely place. And most of the celebrities who make their stay there are looking for great time: Rihanna certainly made a splash.
Impending Opening: Trump Tower Towers over Toronto on the 31st
January 3, 2012
By: Christopher Roney
The grand opening of a new Trump Tower is certainly something to be excited about, and hopefully with the business mogul taking a tumble out of the presidential race, he'll have time to focus on unveiling the newest five-star hotel in his ever-growing collection. Set to open on the 31st of January, now is the time to book the earliest rooms in this now-dominant feature of the Toronto skyline. Each of the 261 rooms and suites features an elegant, cosmopolitan style and many look out over Lake Ontario.
Ever looking to accommodate the businessmen among us, Trump's tower offers two full floors of meeting space and conference rooms to host your next big event. Two additional floors house the nearby spa and wellness facility that dwarfs most others in the city. If you're at all daunted by its comprehensive spa experience, never fear because the Spa Attache will be there to highlight the most revitalizing treatments. Once you're done relaxing, head on down to the elegant signature restaurant led by an award-winning chef or the sleek, modern bar with signature cocktails that please both the traditionalist and the more adventurous imbiber. You can even acquire kiddie cocktails and coloring books for the more youthful members of your party.
Reservations are available now, so make sure to check out Toronto's newest property, the Trump International Hotel and Tower Toronto the next time you're passing through.
