Seven Stars Resort, Turks and Caicos

We admit it. Last week's Caribbean-themed travel section from The New York Times got us all worked up about the gorgeous island resorts nestled in the sand lapped by gentle, turquoise waters. And we'd bet top dollar that after reading "6 Caribbean Beaches to See Before You Die," you'll be equally as inspired. Pictured above: The view from a window at Seven Stars Resort, located in the sweeping arc of Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos, a beach celebrated in the NYT article.

Anse Chastenet

Pictured above: The view from another insanely gorgeous Caribbean property. This time, on the lush isle of St Lucia, famous for its trademark green peaks - the Gros and Petit Pitons. Making the cut of the 6 best beaches, Anse Chastanet is hailed by the NYT for the sand's "sparkling ash gray composition" and the resort's "oversize thatch umbrellas provide shade where the palm trees that bow down toward the water don't." We know, we want to book a Caribbean vacay for Christmas, too.

Elbow Beach, Bermuda

We've sung the praises of Bermuda's Elbow Beach Resort, recently revamped and repositioned by Mandarin Oriental. A $5.5 million facelift has transformed the property into a boutique resort with just 98 luxury guest rooms and suites, stocked with all the latest, cutting-edge amenities: personal espresso machines, exclusive Mandarin Oriental bedding, iPod docking stations, and more. Nestled on a private beach (with Bermuda's signature pink sand, of course), the resort offers a wide variety of leisure pursuits. One of the best ways to explore the brilliant turquoise waters surrounding the resort is onboard The Venetian, the resort's 100-foot yacht that's billed as "the only truly luxurious super yacht available for charter in Bermuda." Throw a private party on The Venetian and you'll discover the yacht's "flawless design, exemplary crew and some of the finest catering on the sea." Treatments from The Spa at Elbow Beach are also available on board.
