By: Mary Winston Nicklin

Turks and Caicos Islands The acclaimed destination resort of Amanyara will host three Wellness Weeks this summer. Get ready to invigorate the body and mind with healthy cuisine, spa treatments, activities, and plenty of relaxation. The setting couldn't be more magical: soft sandy beaches and the turquoise sea of a 5,000 acre nature reserve on the secluded western shore of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos islands, known for some of the best scuba diving in the world. Rise and shine with a "healthy start" breakfast of home-blended muesli, egg white omelets and fresh juices. Begin your day with a morning exercise session like Yoga and Pilates. Other Wellness Week activities include Meditation, Aqua Fitness (combining Pilates, Body Sculpting and Cardio Workout in the pool), Beach workouts and Personal Training in the gym. Relax by the 50-meter infinity pool overlooking the ocean, hit the gym, or play a round of tennis. Finish the day with an indulgent body treatment at the sensational spa.

The Wellness Weeks at Amanyara will take place on the following dates: June 17-22, 2007, July 29-August 3, 2007, and August 26-August 31, 2007. Rates for the five-night offer starts from $5,700 in the Pavilion/Pond Pavilion (single occupancy), or $6,450 (double occupancy). Rates include daily breakfast, one morning and two private exercise sessions, one 60-minute massage, one beauty treatment and a nutrition workshop, airport transfers, non-motorized water sports, and use of tennis courts.

Off-Season Steals in Paradise: Hotel Guanahani, St. Bart’s

By: Mary Winston Nicklin

Guanahani Hotel and Spa The award-winning Caribbean resort Hotel Guanahani and Spa has announced special values in the off-season of 50 percent off the winter rates. (During the winter months, exclusive St. Bart's properties like this one start at $1,000 a night.) Off-season packages are a real steal because the resort has promised a Dollars for Euros deal, whereby all rates will appear in dollars, instead of the usual pricing in euros. (The island is part of the French West Indies, after all.) Three-night stays are going for $2,025 (double) for a three night stay, and that includes daily breakfast, two lunches and two dinners, a rental car for a day, a cooking class, and four spa treatments per person in the new Clarins spa, an indulgent hideaway surrounded by palms and pools. Wow.

The Caves, Negril, Jamaica: The Sports Illustrated Models Hang-Out

By: Mary Winston Nicklin

The Caves, Negril Beyonce's cover shot for the Sports Illustrated 2007 Swimsuit Issue sure generated a lot of buzz. But even more buzzworthy is the Jamaican setting for the photo shoot. Where exactly were the Sports Illustrated models cooling off by the ocean? Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and coral reefs, The Caves in Negril provided the beautiful sanctuary and luxurious accommodations for the magazine's 2007 issue. Ten handcrafted cottages are nestled in lush gardens at the edge of the sea. Within a grotto in the cliff overlooking the ocean, the restaurant is impossibly romantic, lit by candles and strewn with flower petals. There's even an Aveda mini-spa. The Caves is a favorite for high-profile events, but also adored by couples who value their privacy. On the island's westernmost tip, Negril entices with the best beaches in Jamaica and miles of coral reef just offshore, teeming with marine life for excellent scuba diving and snorkeling. Visitors are drawn to Negril's laid-back roots, and casual, cool attitude.
