Buzzworthy: Australia’s Hayman Island Resort to Open New Beachfront Villas

By: Mary Winston Nicklin

Hayman Island ResortOne of the dreamiest spots on earth? Hayman Island, the private island resort located in Australia's Whitsunday Islands, nestled between the Queensland coast and the Great Barrier Reef and surrounded by coral fringed beaches. In addition to offering an abundance of Great Barrier Reef adventures (think jaunts by helicopter and seaplane), this exclusive resort is home to one of the largest swimming pools in the Southern Hemisphere. The news down under: Hayman Island will be opening new luxury beachfront villas in December. According to Conde Nast Traveller magazine, the villas will be designed by acclaimed architect Kerry Hill, each with its own private pool: "Located on the white-sand shores of Hayman Beach, the villas will offer uninterrupted views of the beautiful Coral Sea and make the most of the stunning location with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and pretty patios facing the sea." What a way to celebrate 60 years as one of the world's leading resorts!

Pacific Paradise: St. Regis Bora Bora Resort Gets a Makeover

By: Mary Winston Nicklin

St Regis Bora BoraAfter a devastating cyclone season in February in French Polynesia, the St. Regis Bora Bora Resort suffered some gnarly storm damage. But now-- after a big makeover-- the resort is back, ready for the summer season. Some of the finest accommodations in the South Pacific, the beach and overwater villas have been restored to their former splendor, their private pools boasting new glass tiles. With direct access to Bora Bora's powdery sands and turquoise waters, these digs are coveted by Hollywood stars (like Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Eva Longoria, and Tim Allen). Tastefully designed in exotic woods and marble, these villas also come with personal butler service. The resort's revamp includes a spa facelift, new Polynesian artwork around the main pool, and resculpted beaches.

The Fashionista, The Socialite, The Bombshell and The Player, which will be served up until June 27, 2010. Get your drink on and toast the return of your favorite leading ladies. $25 each. Official drink descriptions below:

The Fashionista is a combination of punchy seduction and romanticism with a touch of pomegranate and is accessorized with a rose petal. The Socialite is undeniably sweet with notes of elderflower and brown sugar. The Player is a complex combination of citrus and ginger. The Bombshell is a bold pairing of the classic bitterness of cherry with the vibrancy and sweet flare of tangerine.
